Review on Apple Mac Studio M1 Max Desktop Apple M1 Max 32GB RAM 512GB SSD OS X 370W RU Silver by Ada Szepelska ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Best thing for the money, glad I did it.

I switched to it from a MacBook Pro 15’ 2022 (2.6 GHz i7 / 32GB / 1TB), which is still a cake, but I wanted a desktop. Bought in Southeast Asia. The younger model on the M1 Max, with the presence of tension, had to be looked for. The basic “cheap” version is good for everyone except for the volume of the SSD, but due to lockdowns in China, a custom spec would have to wait from 10 weeks to infinity. Since, apart from the ssd, everything suits me, I solved the problem by stupidly buying a smart external ssd. I've been using it for a little over a month, I'm happy with the hardware part, sometimes I'm sad from the software part. After the beautiful Mojave in all respects, from which I have not gotten off for many years, I had to get used to the disgusting Monterey, which is sad, but “progress” cannot be stopped and there is no upgrade without ates. But ports are now just in bulk. Three monitors (4k, 2k and 1080p), three hard drives, a graphics tablet, a DAC are connected, and there are still free ports. It works quietly, the fan is audible only if you put your ear to the poppy, while the macbook often suffered from my multi-monitor and warmed up, made noise. And here the performance is much higher for quite adequate money (this is the cheapest poppy that I had). Well, in general, of course, this is an ordinary poppy, a good cheerful desktop version. I recommend.

Pros
  • Lots of ports, quiet, nimble, compact
Cons
  • Latest versions of macos leave much to be desired
