Revainrating 5 out of 5

Robust construction, excellent value for money, easy installation.

I bought these for a Cherry 4 tier folding cot/bed/bedroom I was building for my daughter, she was waiting for a second one. So she asked dad for something old fashioned but modern, it worked perfectly. I was looking for something that was "kid proof" to some degree, the child has curious fingers so I wanted something stiff and difficult to twist. walked with a round pin instead of a teardrop, believing it would be more difficult for him to grasp. That aside I wouldn't recommend them if you have arthritis, go for the teardrop style instead, they're stiff and a bit difficult to grip. On the technical side with over 20 years as a machinist and dealing with many different types. made from materials and forgings, these forgings were nice, crisp and clean, the internals including the spring were well made and fitted securely, before assembling I poured some graphite powder into the guts as a dry lubricant. and after reading other people's reviews i would advise, in order not to rip off the heads of these screws, drill a 3/4 deep pilot hole and coat the threads with beeswax before tightening and also use a suitable sized screwdriver, pressed down plus a quarter turn is enough. facilitates instillation. just a few tips, have been making furniture as a hobby for over 30 years. Will definitely buy again especially if my son ever gets married and has children. but hopefully not for a few years. I hope this review helps those who are thinking of buying it.
