Make sure you completely remove any lint from under the carpet where you intend to place the sticker. And make sure you clean the floor well where you put the other one. My rug stayed in place for quite a while, but it turned out to be no match for my two exuberant Boston Terriers. The decals on the carpet peeled off over time and stuck to the floor decals (which held up very well). As promised, the decals did not damage my real wood floors when I had to remove them. This product is likely to work well in carpets with little movement or households where there are no running dogs. giggle
