This scarf is beautifully crafted from Australian Merino wool. This is a fine wool, but it feels nice and drapes well. It feels very soft and smooth and quite warm. I ordered the tartan version in camel orange and am very happy with the large pattern and beautiful color combination. Neutral tones of black, grey, brown and tan make up most of the scarf and they are quite muted so the bolder gradient of orange and blue is what really stands out. I wear a lot of solid color tops so I like a scarf with an interesting pattern and this one is definitely different than anything I already own. I find it quite amazing and the properties of the material are also unusual. The scarf is 12 inches wide and 72 inches long which appears to be a standard size. It can simply be wrapped around the neck once or twice, the ends hanging loose or tied in various ways. This is a type of scarf that has the same design but reversed on the opposite side of the fabric. An orange block on one side is orange-black on the other; black on one side dark gray on the other and so on. I think that makes wearing the scarf even more fun. The scarf has no fringes (it doesn't need to) which is also a nice change of style. The scarf arrived well packaged and ready to give as a gift. It is packed in a small but heavy and elegant black box. Inside, the scarf is perfectly pressed and folded, wrapped in thick paper and sealed with a logo sticker. This scarf definitely deserves five stars and the color choices are great; I would like to buy at least one more as a gift.
