I was given this to clean a vintage wool rug because I needed something that is soft but could still remove reasonable dirt, most wool detergents contain either lanolin which I am against have contact allergies (I can touch "dry" wool and feel fine, but products like soaps and lotions cause dermatitis on my hands) dirty carpet. (or they are both unflushed AND contain lanolin like Eucalan.yay). I didn't want to blindly buy a ton so I took 4oz even though it was half the price of 32oz and I think I'm glad because it wasn't very good. It didn't clean very well and left a very odd residue on the fiber that felt a bit waxy despite rinsing it a few times. Coming back to finding a neutral pH fragrance-free soap recommended for wool.
