Review on Maxxis Minion 27 5X2 30 Flding Terra by Aaron Lewis

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Prefer to rear DHR

On the rear of the Kona Process. Lightweight, rolls fast. Tilt the bike to make the Minion take turns confidently. I haven't yet felt the handle's dead zone as it leans forward, which makes me think I'm breaking. Pedal grip is more than enough, I still don't have Hulk feet. Braking can get a bit noisy when the trail is loose, but it hasn't caused any major problems yet and has caused some jerky DHs. 27.5 x 2.3 on a 24.5mm inner diameter rim. Buy it if you will travel more miles than a shuttle/lift. Wide 2.5" tires, 18psi and maximum traction is the trend driving the bike industry, and it's amazing...as long as you don't have to pedal.

Pros
  • Tire
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
