I programmed this remote for an elderly family member who is confused with the usual "multi-button" remotes. Following the instructions that came with it, I programmed each of the buttons from the existing remote control. Basically hold down the power button and CHANNEL-UP for a few seconds to enter programming mode. Then press the desired button, point the existing remote control up and send the signal until the LED starts flashing rapidly. Then press the next button, etc. I ended up actually programming EVERY button as a POWER button because my family member couldn't remember which buttons to press. This way, they can turn the TV on or off at any time! 4/5 stars only because the programming is a bit not obvious (if you lose the instructions for example). And a couple of buttons had to be programmed twice to make them work. Other than that, it seems to work exactly as advertised!
