Review on Flying Colors Laguiole Steak Knife Set - Stainless Steel, Olive Wood Handle - Gift Box - 6 Piece Collection by FLYINGCOLORS by James Ohlrogge

I bought this set on 09/03/2020 for my mom's birthday. There are 6 REALLY sharp knives in the set - since I bought this set we have used it less than 5 times. The only people who actually used these knives were my mother and I - the top 2, namely: open the lid of the case away from you, and the first 2 knives extending from you move towards you. We eat. Passover meal and my father says his knife broke (he has never used these knives and everything is kosher since my mother and I used them) and it surprised me. Of course, the lower part of the handle broke off on the right side of the cutting edge (about 14mm or about half an inch). No, she was dropped. No, they didn't open a beer bottle. No, it hasn't been used for anything - they used this knife from the set to first cut a piece of medium rare tomahawk steak. The blade is sharp - the sharpest I've ever used on a steak knife. I'm going to say that first because this thing is damn sharp. Upon closer inspection, it turned out that the hole that goes into the barrel is wider than the pen itself, and the grip appears to be nothing more than epoxy and resin. ok - just do your due diligence and inspect everything before you go to work. Look at each individual blade and handle. Take out all the blades and inspect each one up close. Remove all the blades and foam insert from the box - no I didn't do that when I got it and in fact what I saw was pretty disgusting. There appears to be some rust or SOMETHING under the foam - all knives currently show no sign of rust or corrosion - but it is present in the box. I will no longer be buying this brand and I encourage any customer who does to carefully review and document any results. Pretty angry.
