Well well well. Welcome surprise.

I honestly didn't expect much from this purchase. I figured for high end bags costing a few hundred dollars that would be enough for what I used them for. I assure you, that's a lot more than "enough". In a nutshell, and to appease pack purists, I'm not using this for combat deployment, dismounting, or any attempt to emulate the Bear Grylls episode. But whatever it is, I doubt I'll ever wear it. It has a bit of weight and pretty much everything you need in a cheap package. The straps are comfortable, there are plenty of loops, and the MOLLE loops are strong yet flexible. Attaching my BC was not difficult (I hope it will be) and it held up fairly securely. There are more pockets than you think and there are various loops for small carabiners and the like. The shoulder straps have side sternum straps to keep the mesh in place and there is an adjustable waist loop that easily adjusts to a size 38. (One day I'd like to see if it fits a size 36 ;) Zippers as expected from something new, a bit stubborn but perfectly serviceable. I wouldn't say it's waterproof, more water resistant, with a flap on the sensitive part of the zip to keep water out. I'm not sure about the saturation of the fabric. The side handles allow for three-way transport and are well made on their own. All in all I don't see what you can go wrong with this device for the price. Tons of space at a reasonable price, great buy.

Pros
  • PALS compatible tape on front pockets and bottom of pack.
Cons
  • Some flaws
