We have a lighted tree that the 2.5V and 3.5V bulbs are too bright for. Also these
They are in a nice plastic box with long wires but they are still too bright (you mean too low voltage?) for our refilled Christmas tree. I'm still debating what to buy. They work but I doubt they will last long due to the excessive brightness.
