I would be lost without her!

I sew for a hobby and use a lot of cotton fabric (usually flat/quilted but heavy flannel too). Around Christmas I usually make some unsewn fleece gift blankets (the kind that need to be trimmed and knotted). I also do crafts with paper sometimes. All this indicates that my scissors are widely used. I'm sure there are better sharpeners out there but for my hobby use this little guy does the job well. You basically just insert the blades into the small slots and make a smooth cutting motion. I do this about 8-10 times. The small white band does the actual sharpening. I notice a difference immediately after using this and I feel like I'm lost without it. Obviously this is for straight scissors/scissors. You couldn't use this for rosin scissors or paper scissors in fancy designs. They are small and easy to lose. My little trick is to hang this on a prominent keychain so it's more visible. I hang mine on a hook next to my sewing machine so I always know where it is. If it ends up in the craft basket, it's easy enough to find and pick up again.
