I liked the idea of having a more durable ripstop-like material from the shoulders down and a more breathable, flexible material on the torso and abdomen. Make me think less about tearing hoodies or cutting my hands. To be fair, I have to say that the shirt does its job perfectly. But it's not GREAT. The torso portion of the shirt stretches and fits snugly around the chest/stomach area and is quite comfortable. However, in my opinion, there is too much stuff that feels bulky and unnecessary. I understand they are designed to fit loosely around the arms so you have room for stuff in the shoulder bags, but the bags are too big for any practical use I can think of and I wouldn't use them without the prefer external Velcro for attachment. patch. It only increases the volume and stiffness of the arms. I would compare this material to canvas material rather than other ripstop materials I've worn. In fairness to the manufacturer, while the material clearly resembles ripstop, there is no mention of the term itself on the product description page. The shirt has little to no insulation and little wind protection. Due to the large size of the hands, it is uncomfortable to wear a sweatshirt or jacket over them, and rather uncomfortable to put them on or take them off. Conclusion: Can I recommend this product? Probably not. I would advise someone to stay away from this product? Probably not. At the end of the day, there are tradeoffs with every product, and you have to decide what makes sense based on what you want out of it. There are better things that are subjectively "better" but also cost more. It's not a bad shirt. You get what you pay for.
