I read a lot of reviews because we wanted to cut it to fit our CAMPER. The room was oddly shaped and the traditional mattress didn't fit. We bought this 6" QUEEN mattress and cut it in 5 different places. I read the reviews and was a bit worried about the fiberglass and the thickness. took it out it was about 2.5" but quickly started to increase climb. We opened the white protective cover, measured and used a permanent marker to draw the mattress where we needed to cut it. We took 2 pieces of wood and clamped the top/squeeze the bottom of the mattress to compress as much as possible, then cut open with a serrated hand knife. This allowed the foam chips to fall on the floor instead of covering the mattress. We had no problems with the fiberglass! We closed the lid again and put it in the camper. It was PERFECT That night my husband and kids camped out in the driveway to try out the new mattress. For reference my husband is 6ft 1in and 260 and he thought it was great. There is a COOL GEL type of top to the styrofoam that keeps it very cool and not as hot as traditional foam mattresses. He said he thought 6 was "good for camping and he didn't drown in it. Other reviews said their mattress "raised" after he sat, but ours went up to 6 inches in about an hour. I'm not sure I would have bought a 6" mattress for an everyday adult mattress. but I highly recommend it for camping or cots. Hope this review helps!
