Review on ๐Ÿ”ง The Beadsmith 4-in-1 All-Purpose Pliers: Cutting & Flattening Wire for Jewelry Making by Tara Ford

Revainrating 4 out of 5

great tool! **BE CAREFUL DEALER**

. This is my first experience with jewelry so I wanted a beginner tool that wouldn't cost me $$$. That's great! 1. Cutter - As another reviewer pointed out, it's not flush with the side of the tool, but works great! I tried 20 gauge synthetic wire. cut so smooth! 2. Round Nose - Looks like all other round nose pliers and is very useful for making jump rings, wrap wire or shapes.3. Flatten is my only negative star because the flat part is actually a bit uneven. completely tightens on one side (from the side of the knife), but the difference is less than 1mm. I've tried straightening a 20 gauge wire but that seems to be my amateur status coming out. We need to hammer the wire.4. Close the adapter ring - haven't tried it yet but I'm sure it works great as the grooves line up perfectly. 5. Ergonomics is a bonus! This is the ergonomic version of this tool. Apparently there is also a soft version, but this one is ergonomic. Great price for a great tool! WIN!***** UPDATE 11/2014 ********** After giving my first pair away I bought the same pair from Revain but they were sold by a different seller. That was not the right product! If the item is sold on The Smith online store, click Other Sellers to choose a different seller! (Thanks for the tip Mandy!) First pair: 1. sold by Beadaholique who sells quality items2. Came in original box, sealed bag with cardboard back and plastic face as you saw in store.3. There were dark blue handles and clean metal parts. My new pair I received today: 1st sold at The Smith's Eshop2. Supplied in a small plastic bag with a white "Revain Online Store" sticker. New 4 in 1 Beading Jewelry, Round Nose Pliersโ€ and the numbers PLU.3. Has black handles and some weird black markings covering some parts of the pliers. The coating is peeling off and when I wiped the cutting part there was some residue on it (like sand or something). Not sure if it's a return or something, but it's clearly NOT in the original packaging and doesn't state it was made by Beadsmith.

Pros
  • SPRING: These pliers feature a lap joint and dual leaf springs to prevent hand twitching.
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
