Came in a plain box with no instructions. However, it is really easy to attach and set up. I bought this so I can easily put the lens in portrait mode when it's on the gimbal. It really makes photographing flowers and insects a lot easier, especially when the composition looks better in portrait mode than in landscape mode. The fact that it's Arca compatible means I don't need a collar plate like I do with my larger Canon telephoto lenses. I tried some shots of flowers in a vase with a front-of-lens flash and in a hot shoe; It's bulky, but I was able to slide the camera back onto the gimbal and still keep everything level and balanced. So now I can really work on perfecting my macro technique. Another good thing is that I have a bubble level in my camera so I can easily align the camera whether it's portrait or landscape.
