There are better ways. I chose cheap because the mats are very expensive and this one has good reviews (and was the cheapest I've seen). I didn't like a lot: 1. Felt on both sides. This means that a wooden floor will still slide. I was sure I read that it doesn't slip and figured it doesn't slip as well as Felt 2. "Can easily be cut with scissors" NO. I had two types of scissors and neither made progress. Eventually I got frustrated and had to use a precision knife which was still fiddly and messy. I later found "fabric scissors" worked best. I don't know about anyone else, but it's not something I just lay around with. 3) I have a coffee table on wheels and when I move the coffee table it bunches up and I was hoping that would help as well. So it softens it up a bit, and that's it. Too much hassle to return and I've already cut it so I'm very disappointed I spent $50 on it. I could use this to make something that really fits my needs.
