Needed to drill small holes in containers with plants - but for working things on the walls I was looking for a manual (fake looking "hand") drill. The cheaper batteries in a pen drill often only work perpendicular to the work area and are not safe to use near water. Speed drills can throw debris in your eyes and require goggles, gloves, etc. It took me only a few minutes from opening the box to completing the task (no battery to charge and no battery drain) - very few instructions to read as there are very few There are security issues that alert the consumer that they may be hiding. So it's very inexpensive and takes up little space in my "everyday tool" stash. My parents had one - I couldn't find it anywhere that sold hardware (just drill bit sets for a hundredth of a dollar).
