I ordered them as we are trying to be more eco-conscious and avoid using plastic cutlery when camping. (We ditched plastic straws in favor of paper straws with much better results.) This product seemed like a good alternative, so I ordered a pack for an upcoming camping lunch. Mind you, I wasn't expecting to be able to cut a steak with a wooden knife. I understand that in the name of respecting the earth, compromises are sometimes necessary. However, I was expecting a certain level of functionality - this product fell so far short of even those minimal expectations that if it were possible I would give them negative stars so I could take the rating stars others have given them. It's not burgers. Forks don't cut ground beef. Knives are useless even for spreading peanut butter on white bread. Spoons crumble at signs of moisture, which means no soup is possible. By the way, they didn't know what to do with mashed potatoes either. I'm sure there are foods that are both environmentally friendly and help prevent malnutrition. However, this is not the case. The only use I've found for them is for the handle on the spoon to hold "cheez-whiz" to help the dog get the pills. Otherwise, even trying to scoop up dog food from the can with a spoon will fail after just one spoonful, much to the chagrin of the dogs. save your money They are flammable, although a little pricey for fire starters. Other than that, I couldn't find a suitable use for them.
