For wine lovers - yes, oxygenating and decanting your favorite beverage certainly improves the flavor (for most red wines) - and if this quick decanter review is ONLY based on taste then get it - NOW. But there is more. Pros: 1.) Yes, there is a taste difference in terms of aromas - it's noticeable and worth a minute or two (check the manual in the box or online for any wine guide for how long) to "correct" your wine properly ". . 2.) Super easy to set up. Plug in the power cord, turn on the device, and set the number of minutes. Done.3.) The power cord is completely detachable. I appreciate that very much. Disadvantages: 1.) The decanter is easily broken and expensive to replace. This item came very well packaged and you can tell why. Be careful with the decanter! 2.) Cleaning the decanter is a pain. In fact, I highly recommend rinsing out the carafe once you've finished drinking. You can only get to the bottom with a thin cleaning brush - and even then I would be afraid of breaking the carafe. If needed, just use warm soapy water and rinse to clean and let air dry (not that there's a choice when it comes to drying). Honestly I have no idea how to clean it more deeply and it's hand wash only. So far, however, this has not been a major problem. Time will tell.3.) The build quality is a bit suspect. The spin wheel is a bit "brushed" and doesn't feel great, although it works - although it's quite delicate, so you'll need to be gentle with it. Also, the sides of the device have some curves. He looks very cool from afar, but up close and personal when you interact with him? Not much, really. 4.) It's expensive. I mean it's REALLY expensive. In general, it corresponds absolutely to what is written on the packaging. No questions. But there are some caveats. However, if you are a big red wine drinker, this is a great investment. 4 out of 5 stars. Recommended with reservations.
