I gave it to my parents for Christmas and they love it. Mom bought some Chicago cutlery that was junk and Dad hated it. So I figured Dad needed a little set of real knives. They haven't broken the bank, but they are clearly professional tools. You can buy better, but you probably don't need to waste your money. Buy them, use them, enjoy them. Add a bread knife and you have all the cutlery you will ever need. They're light enough for mom to love, but they're made of high quality steel so dad can keep them sharp. If you're looking for a heavy German instrument, you might not like them, but they're light and fast, and there's something to be said for that.
