Update (3/27/21): Less than 24 hours later, this no longer works. At a load of 115W measured by the output energy meter, the device shuts down and AC power is lost (DC power is still on), the RED fault lamp is off. returned as defective. Opened it up to check for damage and found some black dots near the resistor and some weird markings at the top of the biggest black capacitor. I'm not sure if this is the reason for the failure, but it is very indicative of poor manufacturing processes and lack of quality control. Also added a short video of the fan, quite noisy. Summary: This is a 24 volt, 300 watt inverter. I had previously considered a 6000w model from the same company. I also have a 2000W inverter, but turning it on overnight to provide a small 15W (120VAC) quickly drained my solar/PV system. Instead I ordered this 300W. Observations: The first problem right out of the box is that the DC voltage is displayed incorrectly. The display should read "26.0"; However, the top right LED strip is not working. The second problem is that one of the six washers in the bag is rusted. The third and final issue is DC power cords. With DC cables, a good connection is important for efficiency and safety. Pull testing of the RED/BLACK wires showed that the power wires were badly crimped and not soldered, causing the terminal lug to come loose immediately (same problem with wires from the 6000w unit). Recommendations: Check the DC power supply. Cable for free crimping of tips. Solder them for extra confidence. Pros: No. Cons: As noted above. Conclusion: $62, rated 1 star and not recommended due to numerous quality issues, especially the broken display.
