This is the first security camera I have bought. I am handyman and my shop is behind my house. The items I make, tools, etc. cost tens of thousands of dollars. I'm not usually paranoid, but Covid seems to have increased the level of serious crime in my area. I like that you don't have to use their services but you can record to an SD card. The downside is that there's no easy way to transfer the entry from the map to your phone or computer. I'm pretty sure you might be able to record if you pull the card out of the device, but a) you probably really need to know what you're doing and ab) it's going to be agony. A cloud service that is very affordable at the time of writing this ($13) per year. I haven't fully explored the service yet, but my impression is that you can stream individual videos from the cloud. The Enster brand name is elusive on the internet and very little information is easy to find. It would be nice of them to make themselves more visible and user-friendly. The camera itself is pretty damn good if you set the resolution to HD. The motion sensor is a bit sensitive. If the camera is not in the "right" position, its detection will be slow. I have a distance of about 40-50 feet that I'm trying to bridge. If the sensor is OK, it is very good. You'll have to play around with the camera position and do some trial and error to get it right. Luckily, I go home from my store several times a day, so it wasn't that hard to get it right. I installed it in a space that is actually under the eaves. I live far north so the sun is pretty high right now. The solar panel never receives full direct sunlight. I expect it to get direct sunlight in winter even with short days. At the same time, the battery holds a full charge, so I'm satisfied. I figured I would have to find a way to mount the panel away from the camera. See photo (taken at night). The way I set it up makes it easy to get a crisp 180 degree rotation in the pan section. The tilt is okay too, but I get little use of it beyond a few degrees. The software is sufficient. Strict but appropriate. It can also be more user-friendly and have some additional features. I've unsubscribed two or three times for inexplicable reasons. Who knows? There can be many reasons. That being said, it's important to check your camera at least once a day to make sure you're still connected. My wife doesn't like the fact that I went black even though all the trim is white. However, I think it camouflages pretty well at night. Has LED indicators. Some people might leave them on so potential scammers can see they're being watched, but I prefer total stealth so I don't use them. Overall, this is a pretty good deal for the price. I am considering buying one for the front door as well. In white!
