Review on ๐Ÿฅ FoodSaver Roll 11X16: Secure and Efficient Food Storage Solution by Duane Mejia

Not at all what I expected and not reliable at all.

I've been using Foodsavers for about 15 years now. I use it very regularly. So my need for bags and bag material is great. Since you can't find 6 inch rolls anymore, I decided to give them a try. Cut Pockets. I have no complaints about the size. Each side would easily fit the stuff I've used 6 inch bags for, so that would be fine. I thought, 'okay, great, I can vacuum twice as many things at once, so I don't like that.' When you put items in each bag and start vacuuming, things get weird and twisted. It killed the whole "tidy factor" that would allow me to stack them neatly in the freezer where they would fly out when you opened the door. I couldn't put them side by side vertically. Also, the "seal" I put on the top of the pouch/bag seemed to be slightly broken near that middle section on many of the ones I had sealed. It looked thinner than the regular sealing patch I get on individual bags. The problem seems to be that the center seam of these bags (the seam that makes them two separate "pockets") has an odd stiffness that causes the thing to wobble all over unless you're actually putting something Flat in. . I think it's because it's actually a double stitch because the perforation runs down the middle. I say - back to the drawing board with that. I thought it might work well if I go ahead and pull the two pouches side by side by the perforation (that's what it's for, right?). It seems convenient and easy to load and solder them separately. nope! For some reason I couldn't figure out, they don't hold a vacuum. I will say that if you have something very flat and perfectly even, you can probably use them. It doesn't make sense to me that separating them and using them separately doesn't work. There is still a very wide seam on each side and they look like they should work. I really want Foodsaver to make 6 inch buns again. What's wrong with offering variety? People use 6", 8" and 11". Now I have to buy pre-cut 6" bags which cost a lot more and create a lot of waste. ETA - Just wanted to update this review (and take another star off) to indicate that I have just vacuum sealed 5 boxes of Brown & Serve Sausages (they are very cheap) with these pouches - one serving on each side (I have those pouch NOT separated). Of the five vacuum bags, THREE failed. Three had one side broken. Photos are attached.
