Bought just in time for a trip to Tennessee. The raincoat is slightly larger and thicker. What is expected because it must be large enough to put on a down jacket. But together they get a bit heavy. I think if worn properly in the snow they will be great. The down jacket is warm enough for TN weather. I've used it to walk some trails, it's held up well, I can layer them on top of each other - it gets a bit heavy. A raincoat came in very handy in Orlando, where it rains constantly. I'm sure if I go to New York it will be great for the New York winter.
