We've been using ScoopFree Ultra for 4 months now and we love it. We rescued a 3 month old kitten and when we brought her to her new home we were concerned if she would start using this system straight away or if she would have to switch from a regular litter box. To our surprise, he had no problems and used it perfectly from day one. Then came our latest batch of ScoopFree litter boxes, which included a new plastic liner to prevent leaks. But conceptually it's great, like all cat owners. You know, our furry little friends love to cover up their discharge after they've gone to the bathroom. Because the liner isn't glued to the bottom of the box, our cat scratches the edge of the liner box when she covers her poop. The debris crystals then get stuck under the liner creating a bulge that the automatic scoop can't accommodate and DISTURBING our entire system! This happened when the first tray of our 3 piece set needed replacing so I replaced it and the paddle didn't break but this time it's been 5 days in use of the second tray and now the paddle is completely bent and scooping the wrong way and the tray is useless as it is now less efficient at scooping, leaving most of the poop on the other side of the spoon. At $15 per tray this is totally unforgivable and if in the future all trays are made the same I will have to return the entire system and go back to the traditional tray. I love the convenience of this system and really hope PetSafe fixes these bowls ASAP so we don't have to go back to a manual box!
