This is a beautiful dress and I am looking forward to my vacation! Be sure to check the measurements in the table in the pictures to find the right size. I wear 12/14 US and size XXL fits me perfectly. If I wanted it to be super tight I'd probably also wear XL (especially in the chest area where it's roomier). But size XXL flatters the figure and doesn't need shapewear underneath (a definite plus!). The fabric is comfortable to the touch, stretches a little. Very convenient. It will definitely look best on an hourglass or pear figure; If you are straight and narrow at the hips I don't think this will help you.
