Review on Powkoo Sponge Airline Aquarium Gallons by Lori Harper

I got this for my fighting fish tank. No written instructions are provided, but if you look at the pictures posted on Revain you can find out. The air hose comes as 1 piece and you need to cut it into 2 pieces. The hose doesn't fit very far to the small blue part. So if you're having trouble putting it on, just know that it doesn't really have to go all the way. If you look at the pictures the airline is about 1/4 inch from the blue part connecting the airlines. I watched a video on the internet about a double sponge filter, watched it install, and found that even if you make the hose as short as possible, you still need to tighten it up a bit (say 1/2cm ) to open a hole for air to flow through. Also, there is a side on the blue part that says OUT, and that side should face or connect to the sponge filter, and the back side should go to the pump. Since my juveniles don't want water movement but need a filter, I pulled the spout all the way out so it sticks out of the water and doesn't create bubbles and the filter works well. However, the pump is quite noisy even with a sock or towel around it. The noise doesn't bother me too much because I don't go into my living room often, but when I sat there for about an hour last night I noticed a lot more noise. I could move it down to sit on the carpet and see if that helps. Now it lies on a wooden shelf, wrapped in a sock and a kitchen towel.
