I love this collar: Dogs

Well, I got a regular collar last August after boarding and training my dog with this product. They recommend trying to get your dog to stop his misbehavior by simply pressing the P button, which will vibrate the collar without a shock. This is a great feature for dogs that are very responsive to even the smallest of things, as you never have to shock them. However, my baby is quite stubborn and doesn't learn without a shock. I started using it for kennel jamming. She was whimpering so loud because she wanted to come out and sleep with me. i have a process I give her the command to be quiet. If she shuts up, no shock. If she keeps whimpering, I say "QUIET" again. If the misbehavior persists immediately after the second command, I repeat the command and pinch her lightly until she does as asked. If the lower setting of 20 doesn't work, I slowly increase it until it stops (I find 40 is best for larger dogs as long as they aren't hyperactive and agitated at the moment). I can honestly say that she no longer whines in her kennel. It took about a week or two for her to quit completely, but with perseverance, patience, and this collar, she learned. I now use it for other things like digging, jumping on people, getting up off the couch, etc. The "OFF" command is the most common command for almost any bad behavior, so she knows she's doing something wrong when I Say "OFF" and must stop immediately. Now that she's associating a team with bad behavior, I hardly need to shock her. I recently bought a second collar and remote control. It has a two dog setting so I can use the same remote control for two collars. THIS WILL WORK WITH THE OLD COLLAR THAT IS NOT IQ+! I didn't know it would work with my old collar, but it was a pleasant surprise. This is handy because I can switch from one collar to another depending on which dog is misbehaving without needing a second remote control and without shocking both puppies at the same time. I basically bought a second one so I can walk my dogs off leash on hikes. They usually stay close to me and I don't need a collar, but they love people, dogs and hunting squirrels. So when we encounter them, I have to make sure they don't rush to say hello or chase them. I use the COME command and now the dogs come to me without having to shock me. I still use the collar just in case because I don't want anything to happen to them. If they try to rush into the street, I can electrocute them if necessary for their own safety (which is rare). I was initially hesitant to use tranquilizer collars because of their stigma. But this collar is under your control. Other collars without a remote control only allow the dog to play or fight, and the collar assumes the dog will bark for no reason and be electrocuted. With this collar and remote control you can decide what behavior you want to correct, it allows you to control the strength of the shock the dog receives or even just the vibration, which I think is totally humane. I personally set it to the highest level and was shocked because I would never use something like this on my animals without testing it. Although it was quite uncomfortable to feel, it wasn't painful. It was nice to discover. I absolutely recommend this product! I wake up, put collars on and don't usually use them now. But when I need them, they are always there. Luckily, my dogs haven't associated the collar with electrocution, so they don't want to misbehave just when it's off. I've worked hard to ensure they always wear a collar so that association never arises. Hope that helps!
