. because you will probably return this product. In hindsight, I wish I hadn't been so excited and threw the box away because these headphones are NOT $179. A little background - I've been using the Jaybird X2 with matching foam pads for about 3 years. The foam eventually fell apart and I decided it was time to try something new, so I chose Aftershokz Trekz after reading the rave reviews. So the good thing is that they are well made and durable for exercise. They stay in place and stand up to sweat. However, the sound quality is terrible. Without comparing apples to apples, these are by far the worst headphones I've ever bought. They just buzz in your ear. As one reviewer pointed out, they're basically tiny, inferior speakers that sit right in front of your ear. no bass My intended use for them was the gym. Big mistake. First, if you lie on a bench, the speaker tape at the back of your head will shift the speakers and they will be useless for lifting weights. Plus, with the open-ear design, you'll have to listen to all the other people in the gym huff, puff, grunt, and moan. No thank you. Bottom line - I'll probably keep them for work as backup BT headphones, but I just got the matching replacement foam headphones, so I'm back with the $179 Jaybirds and shorts.
