Review on AMI PARTS 279838 & 279816 Dryer Heating Element with Thermostat 3392519 Fuse Combo Pack - Compatible with Whirlpool Kenmore Electric Dryers by Vera Gashi

Edit (2 stars): I praised this product in my original review, but after a little over a year this heating element broke. The original dryer element lasted 5 years before breaking. Check out the photos. The 1st picture shows the AMI part in new condition next to the original. Notice how straight the coils are. Even the original spools are relatively straight. In contrast, Figure 2 shows how the coils deform over time due to heat. In the 3rd image I'm trying to show where this distortion causes two adjacent coils to touch. The extra heat at this point caused the coils to melt and fall apart. I just bought another heating element from another manufacturer. Both are made in China and the same factory to my knowledge, but I couldn't see myself buying the same brand again. Original rating (5 stars): When it comes to large devices, buying a new one is not always an option, especially when it seems like several things need to be replaced at the same time. When my dryer first stopped drying, my first suspicion was that the vent needed cleaning again, but that wasn't enough. A little research on Google and YouTube revealed that the heating element is often the problem. Of course mine was broken. The new one I found at AMI Parts was less than $30, shipped quickly, and was easy to install. In the attached photo I compare the new with the old. perfect match. The ONLY complaint I had was that the item description and photo in that description showed the wrong size. I almost missed this paragraph because of him.
