Review on πŸ‘¨ 5 11 Tactical 1.5 Inch Leather 4X Large: Durable and Dependable Gear for Professionals by Jonathan Bennett

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Buy this belt and you won't need it anymore!

I will attempt to conduct this and all future reviews of the products I purchase using the following criteria: quality (perceived and actual), durability, price (compared to similar products), reasonable specifications. Quality: The quality of this belt is very high and the components used are also first class. The skin is smooth, fine-grained. The belt is made from two pieces of leather with a PermaStiff insert in between, giving this product excellent carrying capacity without sagging or bending. The buckle is lightly polished and the matching clasps (which hold the belt together) give it a classy look. Verdict: 5/5 Duality: I bought this belt from Revain because the local seller didn't have it in stock and wasn't able to order it quickly. I have previously purchased a 5.11 Basketweave leather belt from a local retailer for concealed carry and everyday use and I will never go back to any other belt! The perpetually stiff insole has lasted for quite a while and is still stiff, but has obviously loosened up in the most commonly bent areas (near the insole holes, etc.) from daily use. You can see it in the attached photos where I compare my old (black) belt to the new (brown) one. The black belt has lasted me over a year and the only signs of wear are on the leather itself from the metal clips on my old holster (Crossbreed) --- no fault of the belt manufacturer. I won't comment on the specific durability of this (brown) belt, but as the black belt is nearly identical and has held up well over the past year, I expect the same from this new belt. Prejudice: 5/5 Price: The price is right. A local retailer had this belt for $40 plus tax, while Revain had it for about the same price ($38.73 as of November 2014). I've seen belts cost anywhere from $20 to over $100 (some of the Galco belts or other "high end" belts) but I have complete confidence in this product. For a belt that I expect to last for years, $40 is a very low price. Verdict: 5/5. Fit: Since this is a garment, an additional category describing the fit is important. I am 25 years old and weigh 170 pounds. I'm a size 34 with a 32 inseam. Anyway, I'm a very slim/athletic guy and buying a belt online was a bit risky as I wasn't sure it would fit properly. Since I previously had a 5.11 belt, I bought the same size (large) for this belt. I have had no issues with a belt that is too big or too big. small - at least I have room to expand/shrink on both sides of my current belt. I am currently using a 3rd/4th Hole (counting from the middle of the belt, not the end) depending on if I'm wearing a holster. Conclusion: 5/5 I wanted to choose a belt that would look good in my work clothes or with a suit, but still be stiff enough to carry my gun (Glock 23, .40S&W (13+1) or S&W M&P Shield in .40S&W (7+1). This belt did the job perfectly and I'm thrilled! I plan to buy the black version of this belt once my current web belt wears out. Keep a spare just in case! Never again a chatty salesman at a gun show will talk me into buying a $50 premium belt didn't even last 3 months ;) Long story short: BUY THIS BELT! You will not regret it!
