Bellemain Bamboo Knife Block vs. Heim Concept Bamboo Knife Block

A few weeks ago I bought this Bellemain knife block to organize my knives. Then, a few days ago, I was offered the opportunity to purchase Heim Concept's bamboo knife block organizer at a reduced price for review. I accepted the offer, so now I have both. This review focuses on comparing the two knife blocks. Here's a summary of my review: The two products look almost the same, but the Bellemain knife block is better because the large slots on the Heim Concept are too wide and the small slots are too shallow. . As a result, none of my knives sit well on the Heim Concept block, but all sit well on the Bellemain block. Belmen: 5 stars. Home concept: 3 stars. Here is a more detailed version: This Bellemain bamboo knife holder and Heim Concept bamboo knife holder look almost the same. Their dimensions are practically the same (16.5" x 5.5" for the Heim Concept, 16.5" x 5.25" for the Bellemain), so if either of them fit in your drawer, fit both. Both are the same height of 2 inches without the knife or just over 3 inches with my chef's knife. Both say they fit 16 knives, but I can only fit 11 in each of them (maybe you can fit 16 with just small knives). Their coloring is also very similar, with the Heim concept block being slightly darker than the Bellemain. When I first looked at these blocks I expected my review to say that they are basically indistinguishable and you should shop for the price alone. However, this was the first time I included knives in the Heim Concept block. With the Bellemain block, all knives are tight and the blades are completely covered by the wood. However, this is not the case with the Block Heim Concept. The slots for large knives are much wider on the Heim Concept than on the Bellemain. If you have very wide knives this might help, but for my knives it just means they don't hold in place as securely as Bellemain's and they rattle more when the drawer opens and closes. Even worse are the small knife slots on the Heim concept block. The knives sit in small slots in such a way that the cutting edge of the blade remains open (see photo). If I wanted exposed blades, I could just toss my knives in a drawer without a block! If I had other knives they might work better with the Heim Concept knife block (although that doesn't mean I have knives from the same fancy company, I use knives from three different manufacturers). Most of the other Heim Concept block reviewers seem to like it, so maybe it fits most people's knives. However, when comparing how well the Bellemain block compares to my knives, I have to give the Bellemain block 5 stars and I can't give the Heim Concept block more than 3 stars.
