These balloon clips are AWESOME! Please note that the inner diameter is 2.5 cm. Ten foot 1/2 inch 40 gauge PVC pipe is ideal if you need to make your own balloon support. I took this route (a 12" square wood base, a 1/2" metal bottom flange and a 1/2" PVC to pole adapter) and made two sturdy 5ft PVC balloon supports for about 10 Dollar. I contacted Party Zealot through their website for the exact measurement of the inside diameter of the balloon clip. They answered my email the next day and answered all my questions. Very customer oriented service is a big plus! I checked out their website and searched party freaks on youtube.com and found some good tutorials on how to build different balloon columns and arches. Worth seeing! It really helps to see exactly how clamps work. I was able to inflate and assemble a balloon column in about 20 minutes. This was my first balloon column using these clips and I was blown away at how easy it was! I used 12" balloons inflated to 10" (the speaker should be used outdoors at 88 degrees in the shade). These clamps are a lot easier than struggling to make "pairs", twisting to make "squares" and struggling to straighten and lower them onto the bar! With this clip you simply ensure each knot is secured in the slot and when the ring is full slide the ring down the bar. 4 cylinders were used in each ring and nothing looked askew. Will try smaller beads with 5 per ring next time to see the effect. You can also make tiered flowers with rings. I was afraid I might break the balloons when I inserted the knot into the ring slot, but I NONE of the balloons broke! The new 4-5 slot model also offers more design variety. Great clips and you get 120 clips! I only used 7 ring clamps for a 5 foot balloon column. This makes balloon columns very easy to make and I'm looking forward to making a bow next time. I recommend the new Party Zealot clips for 4-5 balloons. Customer service is great too!
