You get what you pay for

1) Brighton doesn't reply to emails. I wrote at least 4.1.5) The video either does not exist even if you click on the link, or is not applicable on this device, or is simply unusable because the device does not respond when you follow the instructions in the video. 2) My package contained incomplete assembly parts and the USB cable didn't work. 3) The device will not connect to a desktop or laptop computer via Bluetooth or a [working] USB cable. If you're a genius, you might be able to securely connect to your phone and/or computer. The phone connection is random and problematic and occurs every 2 or 3 days when the stars align and the moon is full. 4) Some days it communicates with the smartphone, some days it doesn't. Without the link, it is not possible to view current or past trips after completion. 5) Some days the device is very slow to get GPS location even in central Dallas. Every 3-4 days GPS loses while driving. Some days, about once a week, the computer will simply stop recording a ride while the computer is still on, and then randomly resume recording for a 'new' ride. 6) Speed adjustment is much slower than traditional speed sensor. 6.5) Heart rate zones do not adjust for age, weight, height or anything even though the correct values have been entered. By default, they're what I take for a 25-year-old man. Speed, average cadence, heart rate [if you are NOT using a Garmin HR sensor which connects about 50% of each ride but uses a Bryton HRM], ride time [if the computer starts after a few blocks and doesn't stop until you get home come], incline %, supposedly accurate if you're walking slow enough, but not if you're walking fast, but who knows your smartphone. As soon as you switch it off, you are at the mercy of the connection with your smartphone. And if you get it as a download you can get a really nice map with bright colors where you've been that even though I walk the same path every day I still like the colors. I haven't tried any fancy features like trip planning or anything like that. All my computer time is spent getting this thing to load rides. Overall it does what I want better than any other $55 computer I know of and would probably buy another if it lasted at least 2 years. . I wouldn't buy another Garmin Edge Explore that literally fails every day with different features, I'm not lying, 5x the price. Needless to say I returned it.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Hard to say
