The size is mostly correct, but if your boy is exactly a size 16 he may get uncomfortably tight. So I was planning to buy a size 16 with a little more. No matter what the label on the pants says, and no matter what the description says, they have absolutely no elasticity or stretch. Also, the material is thin and feels cheaply sewn together. If I knew all that, I would buy a completely different pair of pants. DO NOT BUY.
