Review on ๐Ÿ”ช High-Performance Freud 10" x 40T Blade for Precision Crosscuts & Rips on Various Wood Surfaces (P410) by Justin Cranford

Revainrating 5 out of 5

But nice blade. on Power & Hand Tools

I bought this disc after seeing a good review in Fine Woodworking. I thought it might be an inexpensive alternative to the expensive Forrest blades I've been using for years. I had the blade installed for about 5 weeks and was overall impressed until yesterday it lost a tooth for no apparent reason. I've been woodworking for over 50 years and while I've seen blades damaged, I've never lost a tooth on a carbide tipped blade just from cutting wood. I will return the blade to Freud for assessment. As a retired process engineer, I suspect tooth loss is the result of a manufacturing defect (poor weld). All other teeth appear normal. If it weren't for the loss of teeth I would have given it four stars overall. I agree the price is attractive but you get what you pay for.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Almost OK
