I bought a 2007 Volvo S60R with a HU-850 6 disc head unit and a factory installed 30 pin Apple connector. That the 30-pin connector is pretty old compared to Apple's newer cables (which change about every three years), but I still didn't want a stack of CDs taking up the entire passenger seat. Did some research on the 30 pin Bluetooth adapter connector and while there are a few, the descriptions aren't particularly helpful in determining if they will work with a car audio system. Of all the units I researched, the CoolStream was the only one that had a compatible vehicle list for every unit the company sells, and after seeing that it was *at least* compatible with a 2007 Volvo V70 (which shares the same head unit has) was compatible. , I got it. I was very happy that the device showed up on time and it was enough just to connect it to the auxiliary cable and turn it on. Based on other reviews I've read, I make sure my phone's volume is set to full volume so the only thing I need to adjust is the car radio volume. CoolStream Duo sounds great on it. There is no noise or interference in the car, no signal loss, and I can wrap the cable and CoolStream in the center console, so there are no cables cluttering the driving area. The accessory cable charges the CoolStream battery so you don't have to worry about running out of power on the road as long as the car is on. Sending audio from my phone to the speakers is all I need and that's all it does. The HU-850 will register the device as a "10 disc CD changer" similar to what you would install in the trunk of a car and you will need to select a track to connect when your phone is playing music ( I've only tested this with Slacker Radio on your phone). There's no way to control a song's selection from the steering wheel or head unit; These things still have to be managed with the phone. However, these are minor quibbles and not the reason I gave the device 4 stars instead of 5. You really want to do your homework to see if the device works for your device. Car, and it's not always easy to tell, especially when you have a particularly exotic make or model. The best way to find out is to check the list of compatible devices (there are quite a few) and see if what's on your car matches what's listed there (even if it's a different make/model). different model/year it may still be the same). or a similar stereo system; You just have to do a little google search). However, CoolStream contacted me twice to make sure the device was working well and after just a week I haven't had a single issue with it. Even if it only lasts a year I will buy another one if there are any left. $30 is way better than a $300 kit that requires you to rip out the stereo to install it.
