I decided to take a chance and bought this lens to use with the EM1. It is intended to be used primarily for shooting sports (Ultimate Frisbee, Rugby, Soccer). I tested it at a rugby match and it was really great! The focus works well (caf, the tracking is too erratic) but it takes a little getting used to. I've shot with borrowed/rented 7D and 70-200L lenses in the past and compared to the 50-200 SWD the EM1 requires a bit more work but it does the job well. Considering it has an effective range of 100-400mm, it's actually pretty light and will give you a long range! I've tried it at 2 indoor basketball games and while the performance wasn't too bad, I prefer using m43 45mm or 75mm lenses due to the larger aperture which allows for lower ISO's while still freezing the action can (shot at 5000 vs 800/ 1600). While this can get you great images from the EM1, be prepared to play around with the settings and take the time to get used to them. Combination!
