The Chef Craft 21954 Elite German Stainless Steel Blade The Chef Craft comes in a beautiful box, making it the perfect gift. The wooden display case is very attractive. The knife looks like a cross between a Japanese knife and a chef's knife. The blade is thick and quite durable. The food knife holds the blade fairly well so it appears to be made out of decent quality steel. The handle looks like nice wood but is made of durable micarta material which makes it even stronger when wet. Micarta is also said to be dishwasher safe, although I always hand wash my knives. The blade has an attractive hammer design. It's supposed to prevent food from sticking, but I'm not sure I can tell the difference. Overall the knife performs quite well and considering the large caliber of the knife I use in my daily life that speaks volumes about this knife.
