I am always baking and cooking so having a portable infrared temperature gun that is accurate is very important to me. The temperature isn't 100% consistent with my regular food thermometer, but it's very close. Usually it deviates by 12 degrees. This heat gun is very quick and easy to use. I don't have to wash it like a regular food thermometer. Saves me a lot of time. Easily switch from F to C with 1 button. I like that the temperature gun turns itself off after a few seconds to save batteries. There is no special button to press, just pull the trigger and it will activate automatically. Uses 2 AAA batteries (included). The LCD is large enough for my mom to see the temperature clearly. Everything is plastic, it feels pretty light. Not sure how it will hold up. A bit pricey $20.
