The first two things that struck me about this wireless mic system were the ease of setup and the mic range. Took the mic and base unit out of the box, hooked it up to the combo speaker and was able to use the mics straight away. The system gives you the option of using lithium batteries for the microphones (after charging) or microphones with AA batteries. Even more impressive is the range of the device. I could speak into the mic half a block away and I could still clearly hear the mic in the bedroom in the middle of the house. The sound does not disappear, but falls off sharply at a short distance from the maximum range. The mics definitely feel solid. They are well made of hard plastic which is lighter than metal. This consideration depends on the intended use. The sound is very reliable, without dropouts and accurate reproduction of the singing voice. The system uses the 902-928 MHz UHF frequency band, which conforms to the new federal standard for UHF wireless systems. Several other frequencies are illegal and obsolete, but federal regulations allow 902-928. In short, I'm very happy with the system and would recommend it as a cheap, no-cost solution with the added value of a second mic. .
