Review on πŸ” Improved SEO: SE MZ109 Soldering Station with Enhanced Magnification by Ryan Schweigert

Just a few small questions.

This is actually a very useful little product. I was hesitant to buy it as I wasn't sure if it was worth the money but it works really well for placing/anchoring objects for detail work and I'm glad I bought it. Problems: 1) As has been pointed out by other reviewers, the base isn't exactly ideal for preventing rollover. It's quite heavy but quite small and can't stay upright when I'm holding an Xacto brand pencil soldering iron. Other than that, the spool holder is pretty much useless and just gets in the way. 2) The alligator clips are very strong. Their clamping force is much greater than is required for smaller wires, and they often "tear marks" on the wire or even cut, wear, or even damage it. Although this is easy to solve. I had some self-adhesive padding material and just taped it to the teeth of the clamps. Problem solved. You can also use heat shrink tubing or electrical tape. On the plus side, the magnifying glass (the part I wanted to remove since I have good eyesight) is VERY powerful. It's not something I expected to see much use, but I love it! Pro tip: Be careful where you place it. I left it on a table in direct sunlight and came back to find a black burn mark. Be careful! In summary, this model has good flexibility and some features that others don't have. However, some of these features are not particularly functional. So if you can find a cheaper model that does what you want/want, go for this one instead.
