I keep this shader as a backup and it has saved me a few times so will always be grateful to have it. Here are a few tips/questions about the car: 1. Only 1 piece of spring, not front but rear spring. It still works surprisingly well, but I had to adjust the back tension and coil orientation before I could get a tattoo with it. I will also soon be replacing the spring with a traditional dual spring setup. 2. Coils. First off I don't think these are 10 wrap coils because they don't have that much power. Maybe 10 turns, but they are very short and therefore less powerful. I hate the coils that come with the car because they are too thick. I recommend wrapping the rolls with shrink wrap. Then I noticed that the coils (not parallel) had come to each other. If your machine is like this, you'll need to remove the bobbins, turn the little piece of metal they're attached to upside down (it's nice and flat on the bottom) and reattach the bobbins. 3. You need to replace the tube screw before tattooing with this machine. Go to a hardware store and find a good thumbscrew to match the threads and a small nylon washer to attach the screw to. I learned this the hard way when the head of a standard screw broke and I had to remove the stub of the screw to get the last piece of plastic tubing out (I just broke off the rest of the tubing). 4. This machine is NOT factory configured. If you want to tattoo with this machine, please at least make the coils parallel (as explained above), adjust the machine so that everything is perfectly aligned, and then set it up well. As I said, the coils aren't as strong as the other 10 turns and I got pretty hot pressing 11 Mag for 45 minutes. I recommend this machine for small groups of shaders doing smooth black and gray shading (although I've used it successfully for color). I had to crank mine up to 6.5-7.5 volts to get good stroke, which is probably why it got hot. I'll also replace the capacitor when I get around to it. However, this machine can work well and has saved me from not being able to get a tattoo a few times. I hope this review is helpful and saves some people from getting their skin chewed by people trying to use this right away.
