The sole is flexible but thick enough not to puncture anything. The upper is made of mesh, but is similar in thickness to a sports shoe. The shoes are wide too. So if you are struggling to find a shoe that fits your child's small fins, I would say they will probably fit you. However, these shoes are shipped with the help of a foreign company and therefore neither I nor Revane were able to track the package. They just arrived in my mailbox after a couple of weeks with no warning or instructions. If being able to deliver a product very quickly with full tracking is important to you, I would take that into account when ordering this product.
