It works fine in my situation

I use these clips to solve an interesting problem. I installed Monroe Quick Struts on my 2003 Buick LeSabre, which in turn did two things: the front of the car was raised about 2 inches and the CV axles locked up, causing the transmission to vibrate under acceleration. After a lot of research, I considered getting some OEM springs from the LeSabre junkyard and replacing them with my struts to bring the ride height back to what it used to be. Unfortunately, I wasn't sure if this would solve my vibration problem, so I didn't want to do it. My father-in-law suggested this type of spring collar to lower the car and test my theory. Thought for $18.xx it would be worth a try. I encountered a coil gap issue when installing spring clamps as my racks had springs with only 4 turns. I ended up having to cut a lot of threads on all the terminals with a small hacksaw to clean the coils and not press the terminals against the spring seat. After installation I used blue Loctite in combination with locknuts to give them extra security. Overall, the front of my car dropped about 1.5 inches. The first ride was amazing. Vibrations under acceleration were gone and handling went from pretty bad to very good. The ride is a little stiffer, but I take that for improved handling. There are some squeaks and rattles when driving over speed bumps and potholes at low speeds, but all seems quiet during normal driving. I think it was a good investment to test my theory on transmission vibration. I don't know about the durability of this product but they made my car better for the time being.
