Review on 3M Wool Compounding Pad (05711) - 9 Inches, White - Ideal for Boats, Cars, Trucks, and RVs by Steve Douglas

Just pulled my 35ft 1999 Albin out of the water to paint the bottom and apply gelcoat wax. I figured I'd do the waxing myself this time. I started with my regular random orbital wax, a regular terry cloth applicator, and a buffing cap. HORRIBLE results. The shipyard owner came and gave me one of those wool hats and I couldn't believe the difference. I also used a regular terry cap for waxing. I've been asked by a few people what I'm using and that the gelcoat looks like new. I ended up using two for the entire boat. When I found them at Revain for about half the price I bought two more for next time. I will never go back to my old polishing bonnet. I have no idea what the negative review was about, but maybe too much wax was used or something with too much compound. I would buy them again to wax my boat or car.
