This is the best leash! I have a 60 lb pit mix that had (had) a traction issue. I went to training with him and our trainer let me use a Gentle Leader collar with a 6ft leash. Doesn't matter. However, when I REALLY needed to fix it (you know that - you always hear Cesar Milan at his shows) with a quick jerk and a "cst" sound, I wasn't always able to get the repair done as quickly and efficiently with as much strength as I needed (and as my trainer could) all because of a lack of strength in my left arm. I always had to wrap borrowed clothes around my left arm next to the dog to get a tighter grip. It would have hurt my arm and to be honest it wasn't very comfortable to walk like that. I kept saying "I wish I had a leash with two handles" and then decided to look for it as it seemed like I couldn't be the only one who had ever thought of it! This leash solves all my problems! I love the extra reassurance it gives me knowing he's there when I need him (short hold) and can let him roam around and explore when he needs to (e.g. when he's spotting the perfect spot power). Now I have no problem running it and can easily fix it if needed. Plus, it also works as a leash for two, so I can hold the shorter handle while my husband holds the farther one, and we can hold hands in between! I've even used it to teach my son how to walk the dog when he held the shorter handle and I held the long handle. That way I'm still in control and can jump up if my son trips.
