I did NOT purchase this FOR an iPod REFRESH. but for Dell D430 as that is the only drive size I can buy for it. Crazy price for this dead technology, thanks to Apple continuing to use it in their hardware and those who want to buy a 30GB Apple iPod Video and upgrade to 128GB. Ready to use with the existing IDE ZIF cable. , the drive was recognized and I was able to clone my old drive. Transfer speeds are prohibitively faster than my old drive, ranging from 15/20MB/s to 75MB/s. If I understand Windows correctly, the drive even supports TRIM. The drive works fine in Windows 7. The only thing that bothers me is that the hard drive light is on all the time and not blinking. I seem to have read somewhere that this is a disadvantage of replacing the Toshiba drive with an SSD on my particular system. I don't think it has anything to do with the drive. If you have that kind of money and want to keep your D430 running, buy a hard drive. It has changed the way I calculate, commute and travel.
