Review on ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day Dishwashing Liquid Dish Soap 16 oz, Lavender Scent - Pack of 3, Cruelty-Free Formula by Mary Jones

Revainrating 3 out of 5

This is the last time I trust America's Test Kitchen

I bought this because of ATK's trust in this soap. For many years, Dawn Platinum was my favorite product, but ATK said this soap worked even better, so I had to try it. Stay away from this soap! First, that smell is just awful. I thought that with the scent of lavender there would be some slight lingering odors after washing. I wasn't prepared for the onslaught of floral scents emanating from this material. I could still smell it on all my dishes and kitchen utensils even after they were dry and it even left odors when I ate from it. It's so poignant that I really don't know what they were thinking. But even if I could forgive the crazy potpourri smells, I didn't find this soap any better at dissolving dirt and grime than my favorite Dawn Platinum. In fact, the only thing that REALLY struck me was how much more of this soap I had to use to get the same effect as Dawn. If I fill a sponge with Dawn Platinum, I can probably use that sponge for a dozen or so dishes before the sponge needs to be refilled. But with Meyer's soap, I found that the sponge would "leak" useful suds quite often, and I had to constantly charge the sponge to perform a useless clean. doesn't make it any better! I will never again throw away my Dawn Platinum or trust ATK's obviously biased recommendations.

Pros
  • Biodegradable dishwashing liquid for hand washing dishes, pots and pans
Cons
  • Questionable purchase by seniors
