I fitted this handlebar extension to a standard single speed bike. The thinner padding was too loose. The thicker gasket was too tight and the threads couldn't grip. I had to cut open the old camera and use it with a thinner gasket. It worked; However, he still moved the steering wheel. Finally, in order for it to be tight enough to stay in place, I had to remove the hex head on the screw. Each screw must be stripped before the tool head! There is a very precise point on these extensions where the holes align and allow the threads to snag. If the jaws that attach to the steering wheel are even a millimeter wider, the threads won't match. I'm going to drill both holes and use a bolt and nut from Home Depot. This gives me some wiggle room to open my jaws. And I've never seen Home Depot devices detach so easily so I can secure them neatly. With a slight design change these handlebar extensions would be great. But once you've installed them as is, expect a visit to the hardware store and a lot of sweat on your upper lip!
